There Is No Diagnosis, Only Updates
I have an aversion to empty space. The entire creative process behind this series stems from that premise. My initial approach consists of occupying the working surface through an unrestrained, almost furious act, engaging in a limitless exploration of visual experimentation. This is followed by a period of reflection. Contemplating the resulting compositions, I seek a context that allows me to reconstruct and reorganise each fragment born from the paradigmatic tension between the image and its representation, using irony and playfulness as guiding strategies. It is through the mere suggestion of existence that so many rush to create ways of projecting us into a binary, hyperconnected system. The works presented here emerge from a reflection on digital existence and on the fragmented, unstable self that reveals itself only through the systemic effect of actions performed—or programmed—across websites and apps. I incorporate visual elements that identify specific websites and apps as recognised by their users, situating part of the narrative while appropriating their formal language. In doing so, I materialise an iconic and ironic reading that invites multiple levels of interpretation. The works illustrate the bond between the social and the intimate, and their relationship with an (a)temporal notion of "truth." The responsibility for connecting the different elements within each work is entrusted to the viewer, whose own experience—and relationship with the intrinsic logic of each website or app—completes the interpretative process. The whole is understood differently from the mere sum of its parts.
